Το FoodCloud είναι μια κοινωνική επιχείρηση με γνώμονα την τεχνολογία που αντιμετωπίζει ταυτόχρονα τη σπατάλη τροφίμων και την πείνα. Λειτουργεί μια πλατφόρμα που συνδέει επιχειρήσεις τροφίμων, όπως υπεραγορές και εστιατόρια, με πλεονάζοντα τρόφιμα με τοπικές φιλανθρωπικές οργανώσεις και κοινοτικές ομάδες που έχουν ανάγκη. Η πρωτοβουλία δεν αντιμετωπίζει μόνο το θέμα της πείνας. Προωθεί επίσης την περιβαλλοντική βιωσιμότητα, εκτρέποντας τα βρώσιμα πλεονάζοντα τρόφιμα από τις χωματερές. Η συνεργασία με τις τοπικές επιχειρήσεις αποτελεί βασικό συστατικό της επιτυχίας του FoodCloud, ενώ η εμπλοκή του με εθελοντές και νέους ενισχύει τον κοινωνικό του αντίκτυπο.
